New to homeschooling or considering it
Many things are to be considered when making educational decisions for your family. Maybe you’re sensing a change is needed. Maybe you’d like to know what options are available. Maybe you want to advocate for your child, but you’re not sure how to do it. With a background in education and thirteen years of experience homeschooling, I can coach you as you go. From the beginning inklings of interest, to curriculum choices and support, I will walk with you. And if you decide not to homeschool, I can help you know how to lean in as their primary educator and to advocate for them in their school environment.

Curriculum and subject decisions
What is the best curriculum for my child? How can I be sure that they’d be ready to go back in a classroom as needed? Where should I purchase my books and materials? What about socialization and activities? Do I have to keep track of everything I do with homeschooling? How can I test them to make sure they’re on track academically? Navigating this space can be tricky. Utilizing years of research, as well as what I’ve learned from my own mistakes, I can aid in your decision making process using what I’ve learned along the way.

Challenges along the way
Ahhh… if only the decision was the most difficult part and then it was smooth sailing! But let’s face it. We’re humans coordinating the education of other humans. Bumps will show up on the road, and then what? This is the time to make space and consider what’s happening and to ideally draw someone else in for help or advice. Outside eyes, someone who respectfully makes space for you to process, who understands the unique challenges of homeschooling and has years of perspective, and can help you walk forward with peace and hope.

Navigating partnerships
If the educational choices for your family lead you down the path of a partnership with other schools or organizations, such as your local school, a private school, a community college, or co-op, you may find things are even more complicated with record keeping, transcripts, schedules, and more. Throughout our thirteen years of homeschooling, I navigated many of those spaces, and can help you along.
